American Automobile Association History
The American Automobile Association (AAA) was originally founded in 1902. In that time, automobiles was just starting to become apart of American everyday life. At that time there were only one-thousand charter members, but that number quickly grew to accompany different regional and local clubs under the American Automobile Association umbrella.
Triple A started printing the first road maps in 1905. In 1917 the American Automobile Association also printed hotel guides.
In 1920, The School of Safety Patrol Program was launched. Many other driver safety programs followed. As the years continued, the insurance company continued to grow and expand the United States. A rating service for restaurants and hotels nationwide became one of its most popular programs. In 1997 the company was changed to AAA.
Progressive Insurance Corporation Company History
The Progressive Insurance Corporation was established in 1937 by Joe Lewis and Jack Green. Progressive Corporation was originally head courted in May field Village, Ohio. In 1951, Progressive’s massive growth prompted the company to move to newer offices, located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Jack Green became the CEO of Progressive Corporation, after Joe Lewis died in 1955. Peter Lewis, Joe Lewis son, began his new career with Progressive Corporation.
