Greensboro Car Insurance Laws

For decades, North Carolina has been very strict about its car insurance laws. Though state residents complain about that from time to time, this enforcement has kept car insurance premiums lower than those of surrounding states for decades.

As the case in other states, car insurance laws are established at the state level but often are enforced at the local level.

In North Carolina, state and local areas are much more likely to work together than are some states.

Only seven states — Wisconsin, Kansas, Idaho, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa and North Dakota — have lower annual average premium rates than does North Carolina.

There is not a clear-cut answer as to why alcohol-related accidents are increasing, though local authors attempt to link that increase to increased unemployment.

Whether that link is statistically sound or not remains to be seen, but there is no disputing that alcohol-related accidents in Greensboro are increasing.

This fact alone is enough to drive car insurance companies to increase their premium rates to the highest level allowed by the state government. DUI laws vary by state, and everyone should know their state specific DUI laws.

If one is convicted of a DUI, one should compare SR22 car insurance!

Greensboro Information

was founded in 1781 and named for Revolutionary War officer Major General Nathanael Greene.

The early Greensborough, as it was known until 1895, was a trading center and a primary crossroads linking north-south and east-west travel and trade.

The city developed slowly, however, owing much of its growth to the processing of cotton that was grown all around the boundaries of the city.

Most of central North Carolina saw a great deal of activity during the Civil War, and Greensboro was near the center of that activity. The capital of the Confederacy was in Greensboro for a short time. Greensboro also served as the capital of North Carolina in 1865.

The city seemed to be unassuming in matters of social justice, but in 1960, things began to change. On February 1, four black students from a local university walked into and sat at a Woolworth’s lunch counter. The original counter is in the Smithsonian.

Greensboro was the site of race riots in 1969.

Compare Greensboro Car Insurance Quotes Today

It is wise to compare car insurance quotes on a periodically. Individuals’ conditions and circumstances change, and so do those of the insurance industry. This is true on the national, state and local levels.

Local crime rates directly affect premium rates, as do local highway safety statistics. Those rates change, and the algorithms on which car insurance premium rates change with it. Thus, the individual needs to compare premium rate quotes on a regular basis.

Virtually all companies now recognize that it is far less costly to retain existing customers than it is to attract new ones.

Most car insurance companies will opt to meet competitors’ rate quotes rather than to lose a customer to a lower-priced competitor.

In most cases, customers should seek out competing rate quotes every year or so.

That length of time is long enough that the individual is not checking too often and short enough that competing companies can attribute premium rate changes to changing local conditions or changing strategy on the part of one or more competitors.

Either way, the customer wins. Compare car insurance companies that are offering cheap car insurance with our ZIP code search!
