A.T. Vigneron started the Automobile Mutual Insurance Company of America (Amica) in 1907 as automobiles first entered the American market.

It has become the oldest mutual insurance company in the United States.

Amica’s policyholders have received dividends every year on most policies including during the 1929 economic crash.

Amica has 39 offices across the United States and has 3,000 employees.

It was originally based in Providence, Rhode Island. In 1994, Amica relocated its headquarters to a bigger corporate complex close to Lincoln, Rhode Island.
