This review looks at the Heartland Mutual Insurance Company. The Heartland Mutual Insurance Company was founded in 1870 by Chrisostomus Boul in Belleville, Illinois.
Boul was a farmer who believed in the mutual concept.
In 1752, Benjamin Franklin reasoned that if people pooled their resources together they would protect each other from the financial ruined caused by fire. In essence by protecting each other no one would be left to suffer alone.
Boul used this idea to bring over 120 local farmers together to begin the Heartland Mutual Insurance Company.
