Metropolitan Lloyds Company Outlook
While the Metropolitan Lloyds Insurance Company of Texas saw an influx in justified complaints in 2009 it has seen a drastic reduction for 2010 as of May 31st of the same year. A justified complaint is one in which there is an actual violation of a policy or provision. From 2008 to May 31st, 2010, Metropolitan Lloyds did not have any justified complaints for the categories of life and annuity, accident and health, or worker’s compensation.
However, for the homeowner category, the complaints went from five to seven and then back down to four in those same years. In 2008, Metropolitan Lloyds received six justified complaints for car insurance, jumping up to 13 in 2009 and dropping back down to only 2 at the almost halfway mark in 2010.
Metropolitan Lloyds has moved their home office location within Texas several times in a few years’ time. In 1996, they relocated from Irving to Plano and then in 2000, they moved from Plano to Addison. The following year in 2001, they moved again, this time to Irving, and in 2008, they moved again to Dallas, which is where they still resided in 2010.
While they withdrew from writing fire and residential dwelling insurance in 2002, Metropolitan Lloyds Insurance Company of Texas continues to write car insurance policies. They currently have an A rating for their financial stability from AM Best.
