Dealers Assurance Company, Inc., of Upper Arlington, Ohio, was founded in 1980 and was incorporated as a fire, casualty, and marine insurance provider. Dealers Assurance was acquired by SouthwestRE Holdings, Inc. in 2004.
What Dealers Assurance Provides
Dealers Assurance does not provide any insurance products directly at the consumer level. Rather, the company is an underwriter and reinsurance provider for other companies and their programs.
Their main focus is providing insurance for warranty programs in the automotive industry.
For example, a manufacturer may offer a 100,000-mile warranty on the transmission of a new car.
Should a customer bring his car in for warranty service on a failed transmission, the Dealers Assurance policy would cover the cost of the repairs.
In addition to its insurance capabilities, the company also provides expertise in both accounting and regulatory compliance to aid companies in making sure their programs are up to par.
They also assist their clients in the creation of vehicle service contracts and warranty policies and documents.
The company is licensed to do business in 49 states and the District of Columbia.
Dealers Assurance has consistently maintained high ratings from A.M. Best over the course of the last 25 years.
Most of their stability ratings during that period have been either A+ or A-,showing that Dealers Assurance is financially stable and able to meet both long and short-term commitments.
Furthermore, the management team’s combined 75 years of industry experience keep the company on track year after year.
