Farmers Insurance Group

Farmers Insurance Group started in 1928, just as the Great Depression was approaching, and managed to endure the turmoil while growing and expanding its services at the same time.

Farmers began in a one-room office offering only limited automobile coverage and grew into one of the largest insurance providers in the nation with over twenty thousand employees operating in forty-one states.

Today, Farmers holds claim to over fifteen million customers, reportedly with over four thousand more switching to them every day.

Amica is the smaller of the two, with just three thousand employees, but is the oldest operating mutual insurance company in the nation.
