What National Unity Insurance Company Offers
Policies of this nature are issued on a master policy and are available to individuals and companies in Mexico. The provider insurance agents are located in the U.S., and coverage is acceptable in Canada.
This coverage is not valid in Mexico, although in order to be eligible, you must have a Mexican license plate on your vehicle.
According to A.M. Best, National Unity was given a financial strength rating of B++ (good). The outlook was also revised from negative to stable in 2014.
Prepaid policies that cover drivers from one to seven days are available by phone before traveling to the U.S.
People who utilize these coverage options are workers, students, and even taxi drivers who service people at the Texas port. Taxi driver policies are only good for 30 days at a time.
Texas recently changed the auto liability required minimums. The new limits require $30,000 for bodily injury of one person, $60,000 for all injured people in one incident, and $25,000 for property damage.
