A.M. Best has assigned an excellent financial rating of A- to SUA. In addition, they have rated them with an outlook of stable and a long-term rating projection of A-.
SUA doesn’t have a rating with the Better Business Bureau. Neither does their new CastlePoint name nor any of SUA’s subsidiaries or parent company.
You can check your state’s Department of Insurance website to see if there have been any complaints about them where you live.
SUA’s products are only available through independent insurance agents, but because this is a specialty group, they do require any agents who wish to be licensed to sell their products to go through special training from SUA first.
Because SUA doesn’t sell car insurance products, you don’t need to consider them for your auto insurance needs.
However, there are plenty of other excellent choices out there.
