Farmers and Nationwide both started in the 1920s and incredibly survived their first few years of operations enduring the greatest economic recession in American history.

Nationwide began working with the Farm Bureaus while Farmers began by recognizing that farm owners and ranchers posed a lesser risk and offered them lower rates accordingly.

Even more astounding is that each organization prospered and grew during those times much as they have done during the current recession. Both companies have an above excellent rating with A.M. Best.

Nationwide boasts ninety-seven percent of their customers recommend them, and Farmers claims thousands of customers each day switch to their company.

Differences Between Nationwide & Farmers

The main differences in the two organizations are their number of employees and the types of financial services each has to offer.

Is Nationwide good insurance? Nationwide insurance has expanded from just property and casualty to include full-service banking, financial planning, and investment advice while also having a significantly larger number of employees.

Farmers offers financial services too but they are limited to mutual funds, variable annuities, and advice.

Is Farmers Insurance good? Farmers Insurance is also much smaller in the number of staff they employ with just twenty thousand actual employees, although they do have an army of independent agents all across the country.
