Here's what you need to know...

  • Amica offers several choices for coverage and deductibles
  • They have earned several awards and have a superior financial rating
  • Their rates are competitive with other insurance companies in the market

Amica is an interesting company. Rather than coming right out and saying what different kinds of insurance and deductibles it offers, the company hedges around the subject a bit.

For example, it does say that it provides liability insurance, but after that, it states that it provides coverage for your vehicle and coverage for your passengers.

It is probably safe to bet that Amica offers both comprehensive and collision coverage options for its auto insurance, even if the company doesn’t come right out and say it on its website!

What Amica does is imply this with its wording that states things like “protection after a collision” and “protection from uninsured drivers.”

When it comes to deductibles, Amica says that it offers a variety of different deductible options for its customers.

Again, it doesn’t give specifics here, but if the company follows the norm, then you can at least expect a $250 and $500 deductible option. Some insurance companies also offer $1000 or more as an option as well.

Does Amica have any insurance products that make it stand out from other companies?

Amica offers some features that it claims you won’t find anywhere else. These features include:

  • No deduction for depreciation for the first 180 days you own your car
  • No deductible for locksmith services if you lose your keys or they are stolen
  • No deductible to repair the glass in your car – this does not apply to glass replacement
  • No deductible if your airbag is deployed
  • If Amica requires you to go to court over a claim, you will be reimbursed for lost wages

It is important to do some research to determine if these features actually set Amica apart from other companies. For example, many companies are offering replacement value on vehicles if your car is totaled in an accident. What’s more, in many cases there is no time limit for this.

Amica also offers a roadside assistance program. Simply put, this program allows for a tow should you break down while you are driving. In addition, this coverage will pay for the labor cost of on-site repairs, such as a tire change.

What’s nice about Amica’s roadside assistance program is that the company offers a sign-and-drive service. What this means is that you don’t have to pay out of pocket for your tow–instead, it will be billed to the insurance company.

Lastly, there is the option to purchase Amica’s Platinum Choice Auto. Platinum Choice Auto offers some extra features that could end up saving you money over time. These features include:

  • Accident forgiveness
  • Rental car coverage up to $5000 per incident
  • Glass replacement coverage for door windows and windshield with no deductible
  • No car depreciation if your car is stolen or totaled within the first year of ownership
  • Identity fraud service

Has Amica received any awards or recognitions that I should consider?

One thing that you will want to consider is the fact that Amica has received an award from J.D. Power for the highest level of customer service. What’s more, this has been awarded to Amica for ten consecutive years, something that no other insurance company can claim.

You will also find that the insurance company scored five-star ratings in every category with its customers.

In addition, Amica has a financial rating of “A++” from A.M. Best Company.

While this isn’t exactly an award, it does show how stable a company it is. “A++” is the highest possible financial rating that any company can receive and not many car insurance companies carry this rating.

How do Amica’s rates compare with other car insurance companies?

Amica is very competitive when it comes to its car insurance rates. Its customers certainly rank it highly when it comes to affordability. Despite this, you may find that Amica’s rates are not the lowest rates that you can possibly find.

You see, part of the factors used to determine your rates, such as where you live, may cause Amica to be higher for you than it might be for someone else in another state.

It is for this reason that you should always compare multiple quotes before you make the final decision about your car insurance company.

In fact, you should compare rates between at least five companies in order to ensure that you have the lowest rates. Amica offers a quote tool on its website if you want to compare its rates with other companies, but there is another, faster way to compare car insurance rates.
